    Try Wal-Mart. That's where I got mine.

Washing it is what I would suggest as well. Usually after a washing it has less sparkle and the feel of the texture is different too. It may be that you will like it better too.

I'm sure the LQS could help you find something just as pretty.

I agree with you on that fabric. I bought some to make a little girl's bag and it's stiff and hard to iron. I ironed from the back side. It must be whatever they used to apply the sparkles that stiffens the fabric. I don't think I would want to work with that fabric to applique. Just too hard to shape.

    Good Luck !

the sparkly will never totally wash away - it just mellows out - as for painted on fabric, from what I have used it stays pretty well through 10 years of washing so far - good luck

I personally Love this fabric but why not contact the manufacturer and ask them if they make it without the sparkles.
    A great match.

I don't think you'll find a more perfect fabric for this project! I saw this fabric or one skimiliar on eBay for a good price. The sparkles will wash away over time. Can't wait to see what you decide!

I used that fabric with the pink background for DGDs attic windows quilt. There is also a coordinating stripe that I used for the border. It was not at all difficult to work with and is holding up nicely to regular washing. You will have sparkly hands, face, and everything else while working with it, and more of the sparkles will come off as it ages, but it holds its shape well and will look just as nice after many washings.

It is beautiful with your dresdens. Go for it.
