My VBF has started doing miniatures because she can do them by hand in her lap and not have to drag out a lot of stuff. Traditional blocks, just smaller. Right now she's doing a mini yo-yo quilt made with 3/4" finished yo-yo! She's even got me working on one. She also does paper-pieced miniatures ... her New York Beauty is beautiful.
She's been able to sell them; not for big bucks but enough to keep her habit going! ($60-$70 depending on how detailed it is)

You know, I may be reading too much between the lines but it sounds like you are going through a really bad patch right now. I truly sympathize. It's hard to be creative when you are stressed and not happy but things will get better and all the fun and creativity will be waiting when you're ready. Hope it's soon.
