My quilting board ID is catsnchina.

I've collected live cats and antique china of many types for most of my adult life. Cats don't always mix well with antique breakables, but I never would give up either.

    Hence the name catsnchina.

Now that I'm retired I collect fabric and quilt. I've decided that is more fun that collecting antiques, plus money is limited in retirement.

My name was started in a game room.....starting out with something like lvs2snorkel. My friends just shortened it to snorky. Since I love to both snorkel and quilt my name here is Snorky Lvs2Quilt.

I had a hard time coming up with a name that wasn't already taken.

Thought about all the UFO's that I have made me think of aliens! LOL so, since all those UFO's are quilt related, that must make me an alien quilter!

This is a fun thread and I love your story of your childhood creativeness.

Mine is boring and like others was not sure about this as it was the first and only online board I participate in. But I do quilt and like to collect antique quilts too.

My real name is Lea, in high school my BFF became mad because I called her by a pet name. She she started calling me Flea, telling me I was a parasite. We laughed it off and are still BFF's. 30 years later I still call her by her pet name.

I have always had "mscupid804" since AOL first came out (whenever that was) and have kept that name for all boards I have joined since. Actually, the numbers used to be 757, that was for the area code I lived in, but the state has divided and our new area code is 804. Name stayed tho, just the numbers changed. :D BTW, if you know your mythology, CUPID is actually a male, hence the MS in front of cupid!

In 2001, my wife made me a doo-rag, and soon began making doo-rags for others and selling them off of the back of her motorcycle when we went on group rides. Eventually, we began selling them online, and decided to call them “ThayerRags” to have our own name for them. We trademarked the name, and use it for our line of sewn items that we design and sew ourselves. In 2006, we used it in the name of our fabric shop.
