I would put a 2inch red border on first & then add the strip & then bind it in red also. I think it would frame the quilt much better. It will be beautiful no matter what you decide.

I like the border, but for me it is thrown off by the corner setting square. I think one without lines would work better like the red with dots or tear drops on it.
