I like the brown/gold border and think it raises it up to a level of elegance, since your center blue fabrics look like they are all the same value.

Of the original materials I either couldn't see them as a large border or there wasn't enough.
Should I go to the store??? I only need about 3 yds.

I LOVE it! Go with the border as you show.

The border draws my eye out to the edge and away from the center. It also pulls out the gold dashes and they are strong. I am not opposed to that look.

I am a more harmonious person and like balance...so I would probably use a med/dark blue border with the gold...either way is OK...it depends on what you like.

Great combination. Makes the blues pop. Good choice.

I really like it - there is great contrast, it picks up the gold that is in the center of your blocks and really makes the blues stand out..........

I too, love it and how it frames the quilt like a piece of artwork. It also picks up on the same fabric in the quilt. Nicely done!

just my humble opinion, but I think what your seeing is the way you have it laid out for the picture. It gives an illusion of being physically heavy.
The color, print etc. matches very well
