Thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful quilt. It makes my fingers sore just thinking about all those stitches.

Sorry I didn't respond to some of the questions here, for some reason I stopped getting notifications of responses on the thread.

Yes, the condition of the quilt is amazing considering how old it is. It shows very little wear on it as all, so the pics do it justice in that respect.

I've been gone awhile, due to no internet. Did you ever get your sewing machine fixed?
Yep, back up and rolling on!

Hi, Cindy. Yes, we have an annual Quilt Exhibit and Open House the first Saturday in May of each year. We have a historic church building (circa 1833) on the park grounds where the local quilt guild displays their quilts and we (the park board members) display heirloom quilts in the Shoppach House which is also open for tours. So visitors get to see some of the old (heirloom quilts) with the new (guild quilts).

Wow, a Saline County connection! Good to hear from you! No, this quilt is not part of the Gann Museum collection. We are the Shoppach House Historic Park, which has as its main structure the Shoppach House, built in 1852. Other structures in the park are the Pilgrim Rest Church building (circa 1833) and the DeTonti Post Office Building, circa 1930.

I think the color probably was the tan color as shown since the coloring on the quilt overall is still very uniform. There is no noticeable fading on the quilt, it really does look like it was taken care of exceptionally well and not exposed to sunlight, etc.
