For me it's changed over the years - I used to really hate binding because I wasn't very good at getting it on properly but I've improved so much I don't mind that step anymore. (I machine-sew mine on)

Then it was the quilting step that intimidated me, but I've gotten good enough at that to enjoy it. I still want to get better and have lots of room to grow, but I don't fear ruining my quilt with my quilting anymore.

So currently, my least favorite step is basting. I don't have enough room to lay out anything larger than a baby quilt, so I have to baste in sections with the quilt draped over a table. It works, but it's cumbersome and not very easy and I don't like doing it so it's become my logjam. Quilts make great progress before and after that step, but right now I have four quilts stuck and waiting at that step. Sigh.

I always make a small snip, then rip it off. MUCH faster. You can also sew the seam about 3/8" from the beginning of the selvage and then rip both selvages off. I don't enjoy sewing the binding to the back any more with my arthritis.

I used to hate the ironing until I got my cordless iron. Wow! It makes such a difference with no cord in the way.

I hate when I get into unmotivated moods. Like this week. So much to do and only reason I actually walk into my sewing room is because that's where I do my hair. I have everything covered so keeps dust and hairspray off but having too long a moment!

The part where I have to go to work Monday through Friday to pay for my quilting habit. I love everything about quilting, I've even learned to love cutting and ironing.

Cutting and hand sewing other than embroidery. I'm making three baby quilts where my coworker is fussy cutting the animals and letters and doing the hand sewing. It's heaven. I spent most of mt time machine quilting, which is what I love

Squaring up the block or trimming....whatever you call it. Also hate the part when I injure myself and have to stop to take care of it. No time for playing stupid with our tools........right??

I actually enjoy pressing/ironing as its a mindless chore and I can think what my next step(s) are on the project. I have my pressing station next to my cutting table so close by. I keep my machines in the next room where its cooler and it makes me have to get up and walk a little. Sometimes the only exercise I get all day is going from the cutting table to the machine to the pressing station and back to the cutting table.............and of course going upstairs to get another cup of coffee.
