    Hi Dona,
I think it's neat that you have something of your Dad's in your sewing space. I'm glad that there is a plan for the shelves, didn't want to sound negative or anything, was just concerned.
I have spent the last two days moving my stuff to my new space (spare bedroom) and what a job! All I want to do is sew but I have all of this stuff to go through (and no sister to help...:) ).
Do enjoy your space! I bet your productivity is going to soar!

    Hi lots2do,
I sure don't envy you having to sort through all your stuff alone. My sister was a huge help and we got rid of lots of old projects that were just taking up space.
I was able to buy 12 or 14 of the large covered tubs at Target and we sorted fabrics according to color and a couple for batting, yarn and flannels. We sorted again after the room was ready to move into and put what we decided to keep on the shelves.. again, according to color. The empty tubs are being used to hold 100% cotton sheets that I use for backing quilts, projects(pattern and fabrics), and WIPs... and one for charity quilts.
Please post pictures of your new space!! I'd love to see it.

The long sewing counter makes it look much bigger than it is.
And having the fabric on bookshelves makes it all very easy to use.
You've sure made great use of your space!! I think mine is about the same size, maybe a hair bigger. Your's looks so much bigger! I'm bookmarking your posting, and maybe after Christmas I can work towards copycatting some of it! I've already showed DH your pictures earlier.... :D

I will eventually have a wonderful space too. Going thru a basement remodel and half the space is going to be just for quilting. It's my retirement gift to myself.

I love to see other's sewing rooms. I get great ideas for my own space. Thank you for posting pictures.
Thank you! I do love the fact that it's so light in there!
I hope you get your sewing space soon!! I am enjoying mine tremendously!
Happy retirement! I retired a few years ago and enjoy every minute. :P

I can see myself in the mirror of my sewing room (or should I say sewing disaster). It is a constant reminder of correcting my posture.
