Striking! That is a lot of work, but I bet you will smile big when it is all finished. Sometimes the smaller projects take more effort. Nice job.

Candace, there just aren't words to describe this and the iris pieces. You have certainly mastered this technique. Now, if you were just closer to us to teach us to overcome our fear of this method. Your colors are outstanding and your workmanship makes the design sing!!!.

Good going! Show us more!

Candace, I'm resurrecting this thread because I was wondering if you have quilted your Birds of Paradise yet. I've purchased several of these patterns and am really curious to see how you would go about quilting them. I do alot of piecing, but send my quilts out for quilting, however I thought I might be able to do these myself.

It's in line:> I've got it all sandwiched now, but there is one ahead of it for quilting. She gives her quilting ideas in the directions. Sometimes I follow them, sometimes not. This size quilt is very easy to quilt on your home machine. The quilting is easy. I just do some quilting in the leaves and then some sky or cloud quilting for depth. You can do FMQ on these, but can also do straight, walking foot quilting.
