Your work is spectacular. Love the quilting around the outside of the star on the purple/pink star. Great work! Thanks for sharing!

This quilt is part of the Quilt Challenge for the Art Show for the convention of Pyrotechnics Guild International, held in Appleton, Wis. this August. It's open only to members of the guild. If you live or will be traveling anywhere near Appleton, Aug. 8 - 13th, you should make an effort to come to the nightly fireworks displays at the racetrack east of town. Friday night's Finale is the biggest and best show (things you've never seen before or will again) and the second best show is the opening show on Sunday night 8/8. If you go to the website of the organization, you can see past quilt challenges as well as some wonderful photos from past conventions. www.pgi.org
Going to these conventions has been my families vacation for the past 21 years. Fireworks is a hobby for us, but we volunteer to help set up and do firework displays around the Twin Cities, MN thru our local MN Club, Northern Lighters Pyrotechnics.
The original pattern was by Pat Wolfe, from the Nov. '09 issue of American Quilter.

Your quilt is absolutely stunning! The colors really pop and sizzle like a real firecracker. :)
