Lovely. Put some baking soda in the water when you wash them - no soap. It really cuts the odor. Ditto for sweaty clothes, by the way.

In march my sewing room flooded. Every one here had great ideas. I only lost a few to running die. I did have to wash some twice. Same problem, the heat of the iron brought back the smell. I re washed and dried with fabric sheets and all was good again. For little peices I put them in a hosiery bag so they would not me sucked up in the draining process.
Hang in there...you will be back to normal soon!I will be thinking dry clean thoughts for you.

If you wash them again add a little vanilla extract to the wash water. Works like a charm. Works great added to paint as well. No paint smell.
