Well, I would love to chat with you. I tried to teach myself; but truly teaching myself commercial machine embroidery was so much easier.

If you want to learn to paper piece,, buy Carol Doak's book on how to paper piece. I promise you, it is easy easy! No learning curve. You just need to buy an add a quarter inch ruler and some post cards. You will find the book on amazon.

I love, love love paper piecing! Once you catch on to it, and concentrate, it is very enjoyable. Can't have kids or dogs or telephone distracting you.

I regard paper piecing a bit like 'paint by numbers', so have another go when you are not feeling pushed and you will find that it is child's play.

I tried the PPmethod with freezer paper and did not care for it. Just today I tried the foundation piecing on a cardinal pattern. I think I ripped out every other seam-either the piece wasn't big enough or I sewed in the wrong order or something. i have FPP before and didn't have as much trouble. i will keep trying because I think it'll be fun once I get the hang of it.

Like anything else, it takes practice, practice, practice. But after a while, it just seems to be second nature and sooo easy to make the corners match.

The above has 5 easy, slow paced and descriptive video tutorials that really show how it's done. She explains the process in a very relaxed manner and I enjoyed it very much. Hope you do, too!
