My favorite flower is the Calla Lily. Since I live in MN I grow them in large pots and take them in for the winter.

Orchids are my favorite flowers. I have a greenhouse in which I have about 150 orchids and there are about two dozen that live outside all year long.

My avatar is one of them

My favorite flowers are calla lilies. Even the name is beautiful! I never really had a favorite flower until I got engaged and started trying to figure out what kind of flowers we should have in our wedding.

Now they have a special significance for me! They're so...pure, and graceful, and beautiful. :)

Yep love carnations too..they don't seem to be as fragrant as they used to be for some reason. I might have to get some seeds and plant some this year.

When we lived in Germany I worked in the floral shop on base. My friend and I, both artists, sewers, etc winged the whole thing- we had no idea what we were really doing but hey- we did great and had fun. At Christmas many soldiers had been invited to have dinner at the homes of German families and wanted flowers. We looked around at our tiny stock(the shop was the size of a one car garage) and made bouquets from Red Carnations white dasies and eucalyptus. Lovely boquets and we sold alot. After the fact the shop owner, who was german, came to check on us. We with pride showed how high our sales had been and he asked what we had done to bring them up so high for those few days. When we told him he shock his head. Apparently daisies and carnations were traditional funeral flowers in Germany and were never to be given to a host of a meal. Oops! Well, he must have realized were wernet hopeless we came up with some ideas that quadrupabled his sales above even hi largest shop for valentines day
