I wonder what your quilts will be like in a year, two years, three years - I bet you will be winning ribbons by then. Welcome from Beautiful Arizona. I will be looking for your creations in the near future. So glad you have an interest in this wonderful art form. You ARE a fabic artist.

Great that you are starting at a young age. Seems you can learn faster. Welcome to the forum and hope you have many successes in life.

How wonderful that you are starting such a priceless hobby at such a young age. I always wanted to learn to quilt but never had the chance until my 40's when I finally had time to take a class. Now I'm hooked and teach quilting! I just started teaching my dear friend's daughter from church. She is 10 years old and although she is struggling to learn how to control the sewing machine and master her zig zag stitching for applique techniques, she is loving it and has improved her skills tremendously. I have given her tons of scraps to practice sewing 1/4" seams and cutting out, fusing, and stitching around various applique pieces. Her practicing is winding down now and she is ready to start her quilt. She is soooo excited!! She's just bummed out that I am having neck surgery in two days and we can't start it until I recover. But it's great you have an interest in something like quilting that will give you something to show for your efforts. Nothing gives me greater joy than to see the look on the faces of the loved ones I have given precious quilts to. Stick with it young lady! I'm proud of you!
