LOL Mesa is over an hour minimum drive from Sun City. When I left Phoenix in 99 it took nearly 45 minutes to get from Mesa to the west side of Phoenix on the freeway during low traffic times. Much longer during peak traffic times, nuther words "rush hour" HA! The traffic drive times is far greater now.
Picture if you will that the Phoenix Metro Valley is much larger now than Los Angeles, CA. It is HUGE.
Maria,
There used to be a sewing machine shop at 59th AVE and Olive, in the strip mall on the NW corner. My wife used to get her Singer parts there. At that time the guy had most nearly anything you could think of. I don't know if the shop is still there, but you might check it out.

Craftnut, I have a beautiful mostly unused Kenmore 85 (I think). It is in a portable case and seems in perfect condition. I need to do some maintenance on it and starting with the oiling. Is there anything special I need to know about the machine?
