Yep. Also you type in your name at whitepages.com and people can find your address and telephone number if they know your city.

If someone wants to find you, they can and probably will. Otherwise, just don't post secrets or nasty stuff, keep things general and I wouldn't put close up pics of my kids on this board (at least not identified as mine) and you'll probably be fine.

Don't live in fear. If you did, then you might as well be afraid to go to Walmart or the grocery store because someone "might be watching you".

One more thing to consider about internet privacy...

One of the keys to identity theft is your date of birth. Think about how many places ask for that info to confirm your identity and you'll see why it should be guarded.

Yes, your profile page has only the day and month, MUCH safer than sites that also require the year, however if you have used your birth year as part of your screen name and also put your birthday in your profile you've made it all easily available to anyone.
