Tell your husband he is so wrong. My daughter made me buy her about $1500 of beading stuff and then she decided she only loves to sew the seed beads (the really tiny beads that you can barely see) so now i have to sell all her stuff of course cheaper than what they cost me. Trust me i would have been happier buying bolts of fabric or an extra machine...lol
