I still have my land line. I tried to get rid of it but Tme Warner talked me out of it. They lowered by bill. I have broadband on my computer. I can go days without a phone call on the land line.

We have Vonage as our phone co. and am considerign getting rid of land line. It is all the 800 calls, soliciting for $, etc. calls that are driving me nuts. My son only has cell because he doesn't want ex to know where he lives. Vonage is now advertisisng cell phone service so I am going to look into it.

my land line and computer and direct tv are all bundled so the land line doesn't cost that much. we have unlimited across america on that phone which allows us to get a prepaid cell.
the prepaid only costs $100 per year. it balances out so i have a land line for business forms and emergencies. i also keep forgetting to recharge my cell. and when i have to turn it off somewhere i never remember to turn it on again.

Same here, went to cell only in 2004. Landlines are just so expensive for what you get.

We got rid of ours about a month ago. The only thing I am still getting used to, is not looking to see if I have a message when I come in the door!! Otherwise, it is fabulous....no telemarketers!!:) :)

The only thing I miss about not having a land line is I can no longer use my FAX. Didn't use it often but it was really nice to have when I needed it.
Like a mobile phone but don't like my new smart phone. Battery is TERRIBLE!!!!!!

I don't have a land line anymore. I do miss the ability to send and receive faxes. Other than that, I don't miss it.

We've thought about it. Inertia stops us, more than anything, and the prospect of making sure everyone has the cell phone number for one or the other of us. It's just enough of a hassle to be discouraging.

We still have land line for Internet and about 200 feet out of our driveway, reception for cell phones isn't good . They just put up a very tall antenna tower about 1/2 mile from us but they told us that was for police cell phones, etc. Go figure!!!!!
