I wash a quilt before I give it away. On my last quilt I am so glad I did as a seam came apart a little bit and I was able to fix it before it reached the recipients who do not sew at all! :)

I wash my charity quilts after they are done and before I send them on, but for personal gifts and use, since I pre-wash my fabric I don't was the finished quilt.

Any errors or stitching problems have shown themselves during the construction process...at least, so far!

I don't wash the quilt but I do give a laundry bag with it especially if it has been embellished so that the reciever can safely wash it when the time comes.

I don't wash before giving them as gifts. By the sound of it, I probably should.

I wash my quilts before I give them away. I like to have them smell fresh. I also have a black dog that her hair seems to fly everywhere, so I think I need to, besides if some seam comes loose I can repair it before I give it away.
