Words or phrases that make you crazy

I'm with you! I have better things to get annoyed with than a person's choice of phrase. (I prefer to save my vexation for things like politicians and women who put on make-up while driving! LOL!)

I'm a born and bred southerner and well used to southern expressions, but in southern Baptists churches one frequently hears, "Dear Lord, we are just asking.....just praying....just....just....just....just." It's like a prayeze(meaning technical form for prayers - LOL) form of speech. Has nothing to do with the meaning of the word just.Doesn't show up in regular conversation.More common in small rural churches, but not stopped by a college education.

When sales clerks say *sorry about that* when they make a mistake---they aren't sorry---it is just a flip remark that
irks me....why can't they just say--*I'm sorry* with a little sincerity in their voices....but customer service is lacking
in so many levels anymore.

Another one that could be completely dropped from the American English lexicon and not missed is: 24/7/365; and the word "seriously" used improperly. My DD says it often and I want to run screaming from the room!
Thanks to all of you who have responded! I get such a like, um, seriously dude, laugh from this kind of uh, thingy and if anyone ever axed me about it I would just tell them "whatever"!

I hate women demeaning themselves by calling themselves bitches. In fact I hate that word unless used to describe animals.
I hate it when writers, or speakers use God's name, or Jesus's name in vain, or as a an expletive! Imagine if someone said, "Oh my Allah!" or "Jahovah Damn"! Do you think that would fly? I don't this is a matter of being laid back or not. It is about being respectful, and considerate of other people and their faith. It is about making the world a better place FOR ALL. m
