I have blocks made by the ladies (friendship blocks with all the friends in the neighborhood club) that my Mom had and gave to me years ago now (I have been afraid to put them together) but want to get them out and make a quilt for my bed. Each one was supposed to be made the same but ended up a little different.
I went to an estate auction sale a couple months ago. An elderly lady of 86 who had passed away. Apparently she did some quilting. I purchased a LARGE box full of these for only $25.00! I know there is aleast 30 yards of them. I was so excited, don't think anyone realized what they were.
They are very hard to find anymore & so Very expensive if people realize what they have. I almost hated to cut to make this top, but figured it was better to begin to use them rather then leave them sitting on a shelf. I have plenty to work with and will be doing others in the future.

Very nice, I love the old feedsacks. Unfortunately when I come across them they are at least $18.00 up. I do know they have reproduction fabric available but it is especially great to have the original.
