quilt made from wedding dress

I cannot imagine how this could have been done any better. It is truly a family heirloom treasure now. Congratulations on a beautiful transformation. I think there will be tears shed when she sees this !!

I can't describe how amazing this is. I never would have thought you could make a quilt out of a wedding dress. If I ever find a pretty wedding dress in a thrift store that I want but have no use for, this would sure be a great idea!

Thanks so much for the nice comments. I hope my DIL likes it as much as you do. I want to make a muslin storage bag before I mail it to her in the next week or so.
Also, I did something that I had seen suggested on the board. I sewed two sides of the rectangular labels to the bottom back corners of the quilt when I added the binding. Before I sewed the other two sides down by hand, I tucked in small pieces of all the fabrics used in the quilt. If it ever needs repaired, original fabrics would be available. Now, if only someone will remember that.
