Thats what I always have done but didn't know it was called a ladder stitch. Looks so good when finished.

This is wonderful! I'm doing my first quilt binding and this stitch is working like a charm!

(Which is logical. Because half the quilt is charm squares. :D )

It's faster than the blind stitch I use for appliqué, and just as invisible!

Thank you. I was taught that stitch when I was five by my aunt and never knew the name. Now everyone asks what stitch it is and I can tell them (only 35 years later. lol).

I tried this method last night on a wall hanging. I'm totally converted! I'll never go back to the other methods I've used. This was SO much better and absolutely invisible. thanks for the great tutorial!! :)

You are welcome! So glad you are a "convert"! I feel the same way, it's sooooo much faster than the other way of doing binding.
    Happy Quilting!

This is the way I do bindings, and thought it was the way everyone did it to hide stitches, but found out different!

That is the stitch i have always used for my binding and when i do QAYG I use the same stitch. I have never had a problem with it but I double my thread. I will have to try it with quilting thread instead.

This is how I do my binding too ... Thanks for the tip on using a lighter thread. I am doing black on black with black thread and it is really hard to see. so, I think i'll try a little lighter thread.
