I am in agreement with you ClairVoyant....am tired of the little guy having to compete with the big box stores..and the discounts. Give the local guys a chance.

I agree give the little guys a chance but my LQS just went up to $10.50 a yard. Who can afford that for quilting?

I agree with you on the small Mom and Pop stores; however, there are three WalMarts within 50 miles of my house and only one LQS. The next nearest LQShops are over 100 miles away. There's one WalMart that carries fabric - 50 miles away. The local WM has a bunch of pre-cuts and a few spools of thread, bias tape, etc.

We are supposed to get a JoAnn's sometime around Xmas.

Since we travel a lot, I have the opportunity to visit many WalMart. An expanded electronics dept. replaced fabric in many stores. Read this as "higher priced items". We were in Parker, AZ recently. Fabric had been removed from WM, there was no other place in this small town to buy fabric.

Closest LQS to Parker is at Lake Havasu (about 40 miles). I live 50 miles North of Havasu.

I also got the very same message from WM. Made me want to send back a nasty one but didn't. They probably don't even count the ones we send so don't know how many are complaining. Ruth

well our walmart frabic went from great to fat quarters that is pre packaged and now I have to drive over and hour to the closes frabic store and since walmart stoped sell frabic all of the other places have raised there prices so it's hard to buy frabic that I can afford even for just everyday projects. good thing I have backup frabic that will last for a while
