    Feel better soon, Judy!

No mail in the last few days. All F8's that I've received have been completed and should have arrived back home by now. I haven't received F8s from girlscouts1, Mosher92, and Tracibug.

Ladies, I just wanted to let you all know I haven't forgotten about sewing blocks. I got a huge chunk out before the semester crunch started. I will start hitting things hard again after Easter break. My MIL is coming to see my husband before his deployment and then we've got the holidays and spring breaks and things are just a little too much right now.

On the other hand... I can say that I have a deadline and use it as an excuse to get a break from everyone... options, options.

Anyhow, the blocks will be coming soon enough... just not yet.

Oh gosh, hate to hear about him being deployed! My son has been through 3 deployments and I admire my daughter in law so much for how she has handled it with their 3 little girls.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work that families go through during deployments...I know they are not a piece of cake that so many think they are. Thank your husband from our family also. Anyone in the service during these troubling times deserves a heartfelt round of gratitude and admiration.

Thanks Honestly, after 12 deployments (this is our 13th) it isn't that huge of a deal to me anymore. It's always been there with us since we got married and my son has always grown up dealing with it. The hard part is being both mom & dad and/or the only grown-up to deal with stuff for 7-8 months at a time. I've learned a lot about planning, back-up planning, and crisis planning. I feel like as long as I can have a plan for every possible outcome, then I can focus on living while he's gone and not just sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop (so to speak).

This is most likely our last deployment before he retires and it's going to be the most complicated - we moved away from all our family since the last deployment and I'm going to be student teaching (which is stressful enough) while he's gone. I won't lie and say that I'm not worried about something going wrong and not having Meemaw up the road to come help with Midget if he gets sick. I keep telling myself that as long as we make it to Dec 17th, I won't complain about anything that goes wrong starting Dec 18th. I just need calm water and sunshine & jellybeans until then.

I commend your DIL for doing deployments with 3 kids. 1 is more than enough for me when his father is HERE! I can't image more than 1.

    Hello everyone,
I am sorry I have been MIA. I thought all went well with my surgery on the 7th but apparently not I am going back in on Tuesday for a complete replacement of my VP Shunt. Hopefully it works! Keeping everything I have crossed that it does lol

I just want to post that by now all F8s should be mailed. I understand we all get behind and have 4 months to make blocks but the F8s do need to be out fairly quickly (within 3 weeks) to allow everyone proper time to think about block & fabric choice and not have to rush a block back home.

    Hugs
    April

I got two great blocks in the mail today from Moonwork and Travelinggramma. Will post pictures this weekend. I am dealing with a "frozen shoulder." and it is taking all my energy trying to work and deal with the pain. Waiting on a MRI to see what the doctor wants to do at this time. I am just tired of dealing with this... going on about 7 months.

I am finishing up the binding on my shelter quilt that was from the last boom swap. will post those pictures too this weekend.
