Even when my last DD was involved in scouting-12yrs ago maybe- the trend was moving toward "booth sales"
for many of the reasons others have mentioned. Safety, time etc. The troop really gets very little of the money. I think it was 35-45 cents/box when my girls were involved. the rest went to the GS council. At least around here the money earned went to the troop as a whole, not into an account for the individual girl to use for camp, etc.
Thats was one reason i liked the Boy scouts way better. Anything my DS sold, the money went into an account in his name to pay for camp, high adventure etc. We rarely had to pay fo him to do anything, it all came out of his account and he did alot!

3.50 here, but what bums me is that they downsized this year!! Used to get 22 Do-si-dos in a box now you get 18.
Thin mints also downsized. Those are the only 2 I buy, so not sure about the other flavors. Was very upset. They raised the price, the year before last and now you get less for the same money. I usually buy alot, but this year. I bought my first boxes, but dont' think I will be getting anymore.
I can buy thin mint cookies at walmart! And Nutter Butter cookies there to! Taste the same and cost way less, and I get more cookies. Argg, not happy.

I dont know the price but it bothers me to no end when the parents are selling them or emailing me about the cookies. Same with all the other sales. Being in business I get hit up on a daily basis.

Sending kids door to door is pathetic and should be illegal. My brother was raped selling newspaper subscriptions for this type of thing. You never know who the perverts in your neighborhood are.

We were all in GS and usually had top sales for our troop. There were four of us sisters. We worked our buns off.

I never turn a kid down that I know who actually asks me and can tell me what the money is used for, etc. Any car washes, bake sales, I dont care as long as the kid is doing it.
