I am making a new quilted jacket. I worked on it all day today. It is a log cabin type of batik. Dark green. Tomorrow I will put it together and bind it. I have ordered some decorative clasps that haven't gotten here yet.

I have already completed one goal for the weekend-I took Friday off and took my #1 D and grandchildren (8 year old GS and 6 year old GD) to the Dallas quilt show. Had a good laugh as I had asked my GD what color she hoped to see in quilts-her reply orange. I explained that I had not seen many quilts with orange-Well imagine my surprise and her delight when a significant amount of the quilts had orange in them. I cleaned house today (okay only part of it) and have lined up a redwork cross project to do tomorrow.

I finished piecing an I spy quilt for a little girl who is going to have open heart surgery later this month. I got it spray basted and am ready to begin free motion quilting it. I'm thinking of using a small hearts and flowers design. I need to have it all done by next weekend.

Finished a paper pieced flower block for a baby quilt. Made 4 pinwheel blocks on my FW machine - first time I have used in since winning it in August. Need to make at least 4 more pinwheels to catch up with the one a day blocks. Will be picking up my lated acquisition Sunday from the Sewing Maching repair store. It is a 1985 Pfaff 1222 machine from my DSIL - she gave to me after my DBRI passed away. He was the one who used it. Has a beautiful cabinet, but it had not been serviced since 1985 and we couldn't get it to move. The on off switch was broken in the on position so we knew the motor ran. Luckily, it just need tobe cleaned and oiled and a new switch. Am saving this one for my DGD, but will use it just to keep it going. Also plan on doing at least one more block for the baby quilt - need 24 in all. Also hope to get started on a second shop hop quilt.

working all weekend so no time to quilt. I will be taking time over the next couple of days to prepare for the quilt retreat I'm going on next week. Five days of glorious quilting, friends, and food. We have a cook and dishwashers to pamper us. Leave the husbands and kids to fend for themselves. I of course arrange for the dear furry friends. We even have people come in several to give massages. We all know what 14-16 hours of quilting for 5 days will do to the neck, back, and shoulders. Can't hardly wait. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

An hour ago I put the last stitches in the binding of My Aterisks and sewed on the label, all done!! I'm halfway through putting together my patches and pinwheels top and yesterday I started a modified bento box in brilliant citrus colors for my DGD's high school graduation in May. I LOVE to start a new project!! Tomorrow I'll finish putting the patches and pinwheels together and add the borders, ugh, I really don't like putting on the borders. Don't know why, I guess it's kind of boring. I hope I get the top finished up.
