    Now that I see your blocks on the design wall the contrast is there. Well done this is such a cheerful block and I really like your butterfly as well.

    What this means is your quilt needs color contrast . If it doesn't (and this is speaking from experience), it will look flat. I made a quilt once were the colors were different but they had the same value. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Nothing popped, it looked rather flat. So I read up on color value. Bought myself a color wheel and the little red and green windows you look through and I've had pretty good luck since. Don't know if I'm explaining myself well but if I find a link I'll pass it on. Can any one else add to the subject of value?

    It is wonderful...........I love the colors and it will be beautiful once sewn. Gives me an idea of something new to do.

    I like your block and your choice of colors. Your butterfly is adorable and if this works for you why change a thing. If you wish to do other simple applique critters just keep you eyes open when surfing patterns. I find keeping it simple and basic is the easiest way for me doing kids quilts by myself. :?: :D :D :D
