We do charity quilts in our guild for children that are removed from there homes. Every year a Swap Block is done and members wishing to participate join and make and create a block of there choosing using a focus fabric and block is to be 9" finished.
Anyway I used my AccuQuilt dies... 3 1/2" square, 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" retangle, 6 1/2 " square to make my block with. I am going to applique a 2D butterfly to put in the center of the 6 1/2 " square.
Attached you will see what fabrics I choose for it and the focus piece is the back of the butterfly.
Fabric chosen is from the In The Beginning Fabric line so with the exception of the 3 1/2" square all is from that line.
Do y'all think it will be an ok block once I sew it up and applique the butterfly on it?
We have to make 26 of the same block design we chose. In September the 25 members that joined will swap one block with each of the other participants and the extra block set the guild will make a quilt out of it.
I am very new at quilting so still learning and have alot to learn.

Good choices of fabrics and design. I, also, do quilts for kids in out of home placements. I am told they make a huge difference to the kids who get them. Lively and happy are important IMHO.
