There is a plenty-big house on plenty of land for a city girl (about 1/2 acre) in a decent neighborhood, where I want to live, down in Brunswick, GA near the beach, for 40K right now. 4 bedrooms, two baths and a big backyard for the dogs and pool. Trouble is, I can't sell my house in Atlanta except MAYBE for 50K less than I paid for it in 2005. And since that won't work....I'll have to keep visiting the beach when I can. SIGH......

Wow, is that what that type of house costs out there?

It's perfect for someone who doesn't mind working on it. It does have plenty of charm, as an old house does. Hopefully someone will buy her and do her justice.

The house is okay, not something I would buy even though I do like old houses. If I had a fairy godmother, I'd buy about 10,000 acres, fenced of course, and put my log cabin in the middle of it, along with a big barn, and plenty of room for my fabric, a long arm and my animals.

Did you want that in cash, or can I write you a check???? If I had that kind of money, I would fix up my victorian house and add a LARGE quilting room.

It is definitely fun to day dream. I had a big house which I loved as everything had its place. But taxes were to high so we down sized and the house we have now is okay. We have to just make it ours. It will come.

I agree with several that said one floor. As some of us are getting older we need to think of how we are going to make it up the stairs. I know we have problems getting my dad into our house and he only has to go up three steps.

I hope your dreams come true one day.

I am a 66 year old grouch that took a nasty fall on Friday evening, my DH is a cancer patient and if I had a fairy Godmother, she would only be asked for good health and a few more years together. Otherwise I could use a longarm
