I have one that may parents started embroidering when they were dating. They got married in 1948. This was when there were only 48 states. When I was a teenager my mother told me that if I would finish embroidering the blocks I could have the quilt. So I did, and the quilt is now mine. We used solid blue sashing with the same binding on scalloped edges.

I did one of these quilts for my daughter that had the state flowers with the name of the state on years ago. I put 7x7 blocks and the Minnesota one on top in the center.

My Nana made the blocks for my daughter. I put them together and had it machine quilted. It is precious. It turned out to be queen size. I did ad a couple of machine embroidered blocks to fill in some space.

One of my friends gave me the quilt she made like this with all 50 states.She has no childern and wanted me to have this. It is beautiful.I am so happy for you, this is a wonderful find.
