Ladies, check what your thread is made with. Long ago mono was made with petroleum based products. When you quilt with this material the friction created in the movement of the needle through the fabric and guides creates heat and stretches the thread thus causing your problems. Had this happen and it's no fun trying to retrieve it from inside your machine. If you decide to quilt with it go sloooooow and stop often so that the machine can cool off. Don't plan to quilt it all in one day.
