You are my quilting guild

I feel the same way mostly - I do belong to a rather large local quilt guild but don't feel that many others are very warm or welcoming most of the time. I try to strike up a conversation but others for the most part don't seem to do it very much.

I'm with you, Gramma Nancy, even though I belong to a fabulous guild. The QB is one of the best things to ever have happened to me quilting-wise. I was introduced to it by a dear friend several years ago and I can not count all the things I have learned and friends I have made because of it. Thanks to all of you from me, too.

This is why I have never joined a guild, too many horror stories about rules and criticisms, I am tender hearted and get my feelings hurt easily so I afford any negativity about my questions. As I stated earlier I do get my feelings hurt here too but not nearly what I think would happen at an actual guild.

Yes, this is the best guild ever. I had a fractured vertebrae in the lumbar and this was a wonderful place to go and read what was happening in the area of quilting when it was so painful and I couldn't do much of anything. The people on here are very caring and loving. They are so encouraging and are willing to help with problems--be it quilting or personal. My girlfriend goes to a quilt guild, and it sounds like 90% of them are the quilt police. They are probably getting the cobwebs off their brooms this month.

I agree with everyone here, this is my one & only guild & I love all the information I get, even with the step my step illustrations for a project. I have learned so much here and there is always someone kind enough to help with a problem, the only difference from me & the rest of you is...I read the board at night...after dinner, clean up and bath, that way there is no interruptions from the family for anything and I'm ready for bed when all has been read & answered. Thanks to each one of you for your faith in me and all your help along the way!!!
