I make my quilts for the enjoyment of making them and then giving them or donating them. I do not want my mistakes pointed out to me. My DH (of 48 years) has done enough of that (and yes, I still love him dearly!) - but he was a printing press operator and has expert eyes. I used to have him look at everything I embroidered or sewed - but that soon took the fun out of it because he saw every little thing - things that even others would not see. So if I am happy with it, then that is all I need.

*** No, do not tell them.

*** They might know already and hope no one notices.

*** It would be very embarrassing to them.

If it's quilted and bound I keep my mouth shut. If they have an opportunity to fix it, I tell them. Then it's up to them whether they want to fix it or live with it.

A lady came up to me at a retreat and asked if I wanted to know the mistake in my tote bag. I didn't make the bag, it was a gift, and had been using it a couple of years at that time. She told me anyway. I'm still using the bag and no one else has ever mentioned it.
