Curious....Does anyone buy thread "collections" and then years later when most of the colors are still sitting in the box wonder why you bought it in the first place?

I've done that with a number of thread manufacturers thinking of the great savings I'm getting at the time. Only in the last few years have I stopped myself from picking up the great 'bargain'.

The only time I bought pre-packaged spools of thread was at quilt shows (show specials) but they were nuetral tones. Everything else I've picked special. I don't have a LOT of thread like some folks, just a good selection :)

Nope. I like to collect my own threads individually, because there are some colours I really like and use a lot, and others I don't. However, we have a local store that often has a "buy two get one free" offer, and I stock up then. But not "collections" - I just buy the ones I use the most.

Nope. Can't afford that much at one time for thread. I'd rather buy material. I use mostly neutral colored thread anyway.

I have a couple of collections from Connecting Threads that I like. I use a lot of different colors for raw edge applique and got tired of always having to go get another color, so bought them in a group. I've used almost all of them at least one.

No, I just collect fabrics! I buy the thread when I'm ready for it.

I bought a couple small Gutterman collections. I do a lot of applique work, and it's nice to have the selection that the collection provides. I can usually find what I need in there.

I use a lot of colors. I like applique and decorative stitching so I like to have a lot of colors on hand. I hate it when I'm working on something and lacking the right color.
