I've made placemats, pot holders, quilt, table runners for my sil and have run out of ideas. She doesn't really sew, but hand embroiders. I want to make her something, but just out of ideas. Need help with some ideas. Thanks.

My dear father-in-law always said, if you don't know what to give someone, give them something to put it in.

How about a take along sewing kit type thing. she could carry her needles, scissors, pattern, floss. I'm sure you can come up with something. I always copy the pattern so I don't mess up the original, or loose it. A tote bag to put it all in.

Craft bags to carry her embroidery supplies in. Make a case for the needles, small scissors and thread. Allpeoplequilt pattern has lots of free patterns for things of this nature. Also free pattern.com may give you some ideas. I will look at my downloads when I get home this evening and see what I can come up with.

How about a tote for the beach, shopping, embroidery projects, books-whatever she may need to carry.

May be you could make a small wallhanging , to frame one (or a few) of her embroideries in patchwork and quilt it?
OK, won't be for this year I suppose, but next year you'll probably have the same problem LOL

A gorgeous mug with her interests in mind along with your own version of a hand stitched mug rug?

Maybe pillowcases or shams that match her quilt?
