I have a Janome MC6600 almost a year now. Been using it with and without the foot pedal. Not much to it just to plug it in and use. Was working on my machine yesterday and as I step on the pedal the machine did not work. Not sure if there is a short in the line to the pedal or in the connection port, but I was able to go on without using it.

Has anyone experienced this issue with their pedal? I am getting ready to bring it into the dealer for a tune up and I will mention it to her, but I thought I would check with the board to see if it's a major/minor issue with the pedal.

When the machine is not in use, it's usually unplugged and covered.

Please help.

I'm in the dark. How do you use it without a foot pedal?

Be sure to mention it when you take it for a tune-up. I have had a Janome foot pedal do that and it was a bad pedal and I had to buy another one. My mom had the same happen to her and she got a new one free since it was still under warranty. They are not cheap, either.

Many Janome machines have the option of using the foot pedal or using a start/stop button that is just above the needle. That's how you can use it without a foot pedal.
I had a problem with my machine not "going" too, but it was after I had used and abused her for years. I took her in for a spa day and she's been good since. :)
