What is your city known for?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. New here. Wanted to reply to Canadian post from Gimli. Should that be 'quick reply' or reply to thread? I'm confused.

I took my practical nurses' training at St. Marys Hospital back in the '60s. Silver Lake was the place for geese then...I'm thinking it still is? Also Miracle Mile...the little shopping center not far from St. Marys. Didn't know about the artist making paintings from goose poop, though. This is definitely and interesting thread!

From the smallest state. Rhode Island. From the smallest city in the state, Central Falls, one square mile. and at one time the most densely populated city with 27,000 thousand people living here. Mary

Our city is known for one of the lowest crime rates in the state. It is a new development only about 10 years old. Mostly young families. Very friendly, and helpful people. Quiet and beautiful. Away from major Cities and Pollution. One of the best golf courses I hear. I don't golf.

Which town do you want?
The little town we lived near for over 30 years is known as 'The Wood Duck Capital"...of the world or Minnesota, I'm not sure how the sign reads, but we have a celebration each July and have lots of fun!
The town I now live near touts itself as "The Turkey Capital", although Cuero, TX says the same. These two communities have a friendly race each year...the first leg is in MN, and the second is in Cuero. Oh, yeah, the racers are....turkeys! Paycheck and Ruby Begonia!
