I dont' typically use sheets and such to make quilts...Maybe i will just do one in the colors of the school...I just need to research what exactly the red looks like.

I appreciate everyone's help!!!

Dear tailboo, i have to be honest with this. I just don't think that material would make a nice quilt. maybe a backing. an irish chain in those colors would be nice, and the OSU sheet for a backing!

One of my customers wanted to do an OSU quilt for her son. She did a variation of the one that someone has already sent you a picture of above, but she personalized it by adding his name across the top, and then the year he graduated across the bottom. He loved it!

Why not make a quilt of Ohio stars in Ohio State colors?

That is an awesome quilt   Now, being the diehard buckeye fan, where did you get that pattern? Gotta make one!

When I need inspiration I usually go to the internet and do google image searches. If I want a blue quilt I might type in "blue quilts" if I want log cabin, I type in "log cabin quilts" or "paper pieced quilts", or "grand prize quilts"....you get the idea, anyway its like a mini quilt show of my own design and great for inspiration.
Hope this helps,
Miki

For graduation quilts, I have used fabrics which reflect the person's interests and have used college colors where possible. I was even able to use H.S. colors as cornerstones once; its a transition after all.

I wanted to purchase OS fabric and came up empty handed. they guard their brand market like few other colleges. I found a few curtains and a shower curtain that I considered cutting up. Still thinking about how to do it.

I have two favorite books that provide me with so many ideas. Material Obsession and Material Obsession 2. They are both by Kathy Doughty and Sarah Fielke. The books start with easier quilts and then graduate to much more complex ones. I made 4 quilts from the first book and am now deciding between 2 in the second book. These two books will keep you going for quite awhile.
