I received an email from Quakertown Quilts giving notice that their Friendswood location is going to start its liquidation sale next Thursday, July 14th.

I've personally never been to that location as it's quite a distance from where I live in the Houston area.
I have however patronized their Woodlands location.

Here is the info regarding their liquidation:

    Friendswood Retail Store is reopening
on Thursday, July 14, at 10 a.m. for a liquidation sale.
We will be open from 10 until 4 each day (except Sundays)
until all merchandise, fixtures and samples are sold.
We will begin our store-wide discount at 25% off all
merchandise with the discount increasing daily.
Many fixtures and samples will also be offered for sale.

Our Woodlands store is NOT closing.
Check out the many activities on-going at our Woodlands
location in our News to Use section.
Our retail website as well as our wholesale business is also
NOT affected by our closing of our Friendswood retail location.

I rec'd an email from RubyJanes Retro in Dallas Texas and they are closing the end of July. It said if you live in that area to come in for bargains. They are marking down their fabrics to as low as $2 a yard. crafty_linda_b

I hate to see this happening. I always hope it is because they are ready to retire - or relocating not because of no business.

That was a really nice store. Shopped there several times on our way to Galveston. Guess I'll take a run out next weekend. I hate to see all these LQS closing.

That is sad. I suppose with NASA closing, they reall don't have much choice. I'm off that Thursday & Friday, I may try to get down there.

I just heard the same thing. That is the shop I always go to when I'm in League City. Guess I will have to go to Pinwheels and Posies in Dickinson now or to Laporte to Painted Pony. Hmmmmmmmm

Quakertown Quilts was one of the first LQS I ever went to, about 20 yrs ago ...
They are closing the Friendswood location to use it for their online sales and offices
Since they opened the Woodlands store, the Friendswood shop hasn't had much of a selection IMO, and no surprise, business went down ...
Painted Pony is just a bit further in LaPorte and it's a great shop :)
