Let's see... I started a quilt for my mom back in 1998. That makes my oldest UFO-13 years old. (As old as my middle son.) :lol: :lol: I had her pick the pattern (Rose of Sharon). NOT realizing how much machine applique is involved. Now she jokes that when she passes, I can put the quilt in with her (fininshed or not). I only have 10 blocks to finish appliqueing. Then I can start the assembly line. :lol: :lol: :lol: PLEASE PRAY FOR ME & A LITTLE LUCK NEVER HURT EITHER....
Thanks for letting me share. I really need to get working on that quilt soon......

Okay, you got me! It is a Rocky Road to California, my first attempt at piecing when my son was a baby, he is now 45. Not sure where it is stashed but should find it and at least look at it.....if I remember it is nicely folded half done and in a white robe box. That should narrow the search. LOLOLOLOLOL

After making my maternity clothes for my first child and not knowing anything about quilting, I cut the left over fabric into 4" squares using a 4" cardboard template(long before rotary cutters). I sewed them into blocks of 4 squares each(no 1/4" seams here). I made more after I made my daughter some play clothes when she was a toddler. I still have a stack of the blocks but have not gone further with them.
Though I've sewed over the years I didn't start quilting until about 8 years ago and then sparodically so overall, I haven't done much quilting. My firstborn is now 44 years old!
I've been building a stash of fabrics and kits though so I better get going on those UFO's. :)

I love it! You can't quilt/sew without having some unfinished projects- at least not in this family!
Mine go back to the very first class I took. I have all the blocks, but it is a sampler and for some reason I don't think they look that good together. So, they are still blocks. That was 16 years ago!?
