I buy June Taylor's fabric for inkjet printers. I use it all the time for labels and it holds up well and prints true to color. Just follow the directions to make the print permanent with cold water and an iron. The packages are back by the books and notions section.

Try June Tailors inkjet fabric sheets, I use them for my memory quilts and they turn out great

Now that you've got all the advice and know-how to do your project, I'm sure you're excited to begin! What a nice gesture to make this for your sweetheart! She will love it!
