YIKES and WOW. Thanks for sharing. I think I'd rather have a bear than a big foot. :)

WOW. We lived in Amherst which isn't far from you. The house was right next to a wildlife refuge and we never saw anything like that beautiful creature.

He looks cute, even raiding the bird feeder.

I don't recall Grandby as being that prone to brown bear visits, is there a drought or forrest fire causing them to search closer to civilation? I haven't lived in MA for over 20 years. Did your dogs smell it and go crazy or were they obilivious to their visitor?

Love looking at wild life but having that bear around would scare more than the bejesus out of me! I certainly wouldn't want it to get between me and the door into the house. I think I would carry a can of wasp spray for protection! Wonder if that would work!

I think that they are beautiful creatures, but I don't think I could relax in the yard, knowing there were bears around.

ME TOO! But keep in mind that bears have been spotted in every state, including IL and also big cats. We have coyotes almost everywhere. As long as we keep crowding them out, I guess we're going to have to learn to live together far more closely than we would like!
