I named this block "Big Bite" because I bit off more than I could chew. ;-) It is a variation of Aunt Rachel's Star. I got a 2nd place ribbon meaning that my work was judged as good!!
I am still a bit of a newbie to quilting (10 quilts so far) so this was a little beyond my piecing skills, but I had so much fun doing it!! I want to attempt it again someday.
We had to use each of the 4 fabrics. Honestly, I hate the color combos this year! I love the blue center and it just about killed me to add the green and orange. Next time I make it, I will do it just for me!

It's a great block, congratulations on your win. Don't worry about the colors, the blue definitely steals the show. The orange and green are there as after thoughts only.

was this a quilter's cache pattern? I just wondered because they frustate me..and I have been using them since Marcia started her website. I have noticed that the more pieces to the block, the smaller your seams need to be so you don't lose any points...frustrates me...

and I am with you...not sure of those colors together...

but you did a great job for such an advanced block!
