I am looking for a machine that I can learn and do FMQ on. I already have a fancy Embroidery machine, but it is a poor FMQ.

I was wondering if the Jane was enough since it just does straight stitches or should I consider spending more fore a more complex one.

How easy it it to use - learn the machine without classes? What problems have you had...any other info I should know?

Most Baby Locks are made by Brother. Baby Lock is a distributor, doesn't make any machines. My Baby Lock Quest Plus is NOT a Brother-made machine, but it's fabulous.

Im in the process of buying the Jane with a table and stitch regulator. Wanted the long arm experience but not the funds for the machine so this is a cheaper way to go.
The only drawback is the small area for quilting, around 4 or 5 inchs.
Also wanted to buy from a shop that provides repairs, classes etc. They also said the Jane was the same machine as the 1500s Brother.
