My Husband just wrote me the most beautiful poem. I think I will keep him!

SEWING ROOM ROMANCE
By Skip Steffan
When you love somewhere and that somewhere loves you it gives you a place to grow
The pieces of cloth lay around me like bored kids in summer time who have no place to go

I sew from an idea grown in my head the thoughts like potting soil fertilizing a seed
This sheet, blanket, dress or quilt is just what that child knows not now but it’s just what they need

I have my inspiration the sewing machine whirls and hums
It’s the only one I trust to keep my secret project mum

I sew and sing to the music in the radio playing tunes from my youth
Knowing under the pillow case I am sewing will be the perfect spot to place that first lost tooth

My sewing room is the most peaceful place I have known, its comes with a cat curled on the floor
That commotion that stirs elsewhere in the house knows not to knock at this door

That knock will remain unanswered so your question, problem, or worry can just wait
It’s just not that important right now so just place that package unopened by the front gate

I will get back to you as soon as my project is done and I can again leave my sewing room alone
For that sewing room is my somewhere that my love for you has been watered and grown :-D :-D

He's a keeper. And the poem is wonderful. I wish my DH would feel that way about my sewing.
