Girl friend asked me to help her our with a free Yamata FY920 machine. Seems she was having trouble with the bobbin. I told her to bring it over. This machine is so a** backwards I cannot figure it out. Took it part and cleaned it, but no matter what, the needle hits the bobbin case. There are no online manuals. HELP!!!

Funny thing is that last night I saw a Project Runway for $144 at Walmart. It was amazing. She said she didn't want to pay for a new one. She really should get a new one.

Is it the correct needle? not too long? I agree, sometimes you need to spend a bit of $$$ because it's just not worth the hassle.

Sounds like the timing is out of whack. I can't even find a review on that machine - good, bad or in between. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you get what you pay for.

Needle is fine. I am so tempted to give her my simple Singer and get the project runway for myself. Not that I need another machine ...

Yamata on the way to the trash of the person who gave it to her!

Now problems with the tension -- too loopy on bottom -- of the Tailor machine I just gave her. Too darn many dials and the manual isn't clear. I told her to bring it to the nice ladies at JoAnn tomorrow.
