Is he on his own or is he going to be on his own soon? If so how about something he will need for his new home along with a little spending cash hidden inside? I know my boys always appreciate cash and when you get your first place you usually don't have much.

I live in California and the big deal for kids turning 21 is being able to go to Vegas.... as far as a gift I think it would really depend on what he is like and how much you want to spend and also waht he already has.. IPOD?

No not on his own, still with his family, hasn't been out of education for that long.

Isn't it hard to buy for young people these days, maybe it's because they have so much to what we had when we were those ages. I was married with a child at that age.

Kids his age are always in need of money, and they'd usually rather have that than anything else.

You could also just ask him if there's something he particularly wants. It doesn't have to be a surprise, it just has to show you love him and want to make him happy.
