Does anybody know anything about "Travelling Quilts"? I just returned from vacation in the Seattle area, and we had stopped in a small quilt shop and there was a group of ladies having a class, making their travelling quilts. They were using their vacation photos or postcards or picturesque brochures transferred onto the fabric via fabric pages, and they looked just great! How creative! Of course each person's wall hanging or quilt was totally different and individual, but it seemed like such a wonderful idea. Please help me find some information or demos or tutes on how to do this. I'd love to ask my LQS to do a class on this.

1 of our local quilt stores does fabric transfers. They teach a class on it, but I haven't taken it.

Very pretty, but not like what I saw. The project they were making ended up looking like a large Postcard or scrapbook page of the vacation you just took. One lady's had PARIS lettering on dark blue fabric for the sky, and an Eiffel Tower image printed and applique'd on, and some other sights she had seen, and then a couple family snapshots printed on the fusible fabric and also added in various positions on the face of the card/scrapbook page. Another lady's "Travelling Quilt" was all about her trip to Hawaii. Very interesting. Maybe the answer is for me to contact that LQS and ask for the info from that instructor of the class . . .

I like the idea of a quilt that travels with you. You could put white label-type pieces on the back with the names of locations it has been.

OK, I found a site that might give you all a better idea than I'm able to describe. Check this out: http://quiltkeepsake.com/memory-quil...-wall-hangings
