I was in our local Walmart fabric department this afternoon and the employee cutting fabric said that she had to work 45 minutes over last night because it seemed like everyone in the store needed fabric cut. I said "well, I guess we are afraid they will close the department again. BTW-I wasn't buying fabric but standing in line to ask a question, couldn't find something.

I was at Walmart over the weekend and couldn't believe the selection of flannel they have. Two full aisles and I liked the designs much better than what I see at Joann's or Hancock. Had to buy a couple of pieces for kids quilt backings.

The local walmart said they will get fabric back when their remodel is done in spring.

Our closest Wal Mart to work has lots of beautiful fabrics for quilts. I have bought some, although I sure don't need any fabrics.

I am disappointed in ours since they put fabric back in because you can never find a clerk to help.

I call the customer service desk from the fabric department when I have to wait very long for a clerk. Before I discovered that method I sometimes waited 20 minutes for someone to cut the fabric. First I look in the shoes and crafts - the departments on either side of the fabric - then I call.

Ours was going to be taken OUT in the next remodel - Spring 2012 - so I'll be curious to see what happens.

It is taking weeks for my Walmart to stock the fabric department. Keep checking - but think they might need my help-
